To maintain our properties in top condition, we are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Specialist to join our team.
Job Summary:
The Building Maintenance Specialist is responsible for maintaining the integrity and appearance of our residential and commercial properties. This role involves general repairs, painting, plastering, minor wall repairs, and handling tenant move-ins and move-outs. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to respond to after-hours emergencies when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of residential and commercial properties.
- Paint, plaster, and repair walls, ceilings, and common areas as needed.
- Prepare units for tenant move-ins, including touch-ups, minor repairs, and inspections.
- Assist with tenant move-outs, ensuring units are cleaned, repaired, and ready for leasing.
- Troubleshoot and address minor plumbing, electrical, and HVAC issues.
- Handle general handyman tasks, including carpentry, drywall repair, and flooring fixes.
- Respond promptly to after-hours emergency maintenance calls.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in all properties, including common areas and exterior spaces.
- Work closely with the property management team to ensure timely repairs and tenant satisfaction.
- Keep maintenance records and report issues to management.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs when necessary.
- 5 years of experience in property maintenance, facility management, or a related field.
- Strong skills in painting, plastering, drywall repair, and general handyman work.
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to perform physical tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills when interacting with tenants, clients and management.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Availability to respond to after-hours emergency maintenance calls.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in property maintenance, facility management, or a related field.
